GENERAL QUESTIONS.
It’s a premium all-black metal Visa debit card personalized with your X @username, plus an instant virtual card. You spend directly from your X Money balance anywhere Visa is accepted. The goal is to make X an “everything app” where you can chat, post, and handle money in one place.
Limited external beta only (as of March 2026). Started with ~42 early users via William Shatner’s charity initiative.
Slowly expanding to select U.S. users.
Most people still don’t have access.
How to check: Open the X app → look for the new Money or Payments tab. If you’re selected, you’ll see options to verify your identity and “Get my debit card.”
Requirements: 18+, U.S. resident, standard ID verification (no X Premium required).
Full public launch expected later in 2026 (U.S. first, then global).
Your deposits are held by partner bank Cross River Bank (X Payments LLC is not a bank itself).
FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per person.
Plus Visa Zero Liability protection for unauthorized charges.
No foreign transaction fees (confirmed in beta).
No monthly or account fees reported so far.
P2P transfers and basic features are expected to be free or very low-cost.
Exact ATM/overdraft details not fully public yet (still early beta).
International: Yes — Visa network works worldwide, and zero FX fees make it great for travel.
Crypto: Not yet (beta is USD only). Elon has teased future support for Dogecoin and other crypto, but nothing is live.
No public application form exists. Invites are rolling out in waves
