Per the Card Funding Terms, when you fund your nsave card, your USD is converted 1:1 into a "U.S. dollar-denominated digital asset" held in your card wallet. This asset is designed to maintain a stable USD peg. When you make a purchase, the asset is converted back to the transaction currency. The specific asset/stablecoin is not publicly named.
