GENERAL QUESTIONS.
Yes — for QR Scan to Pay, payers must use the RedotPay mobile app (iOS/Android) to scan VietQR or QRPh codes. The app auto-converts the user's crypto balance to local fiat currency at the point of payment. However, for RedotPay Connect merchant checkout (B2B gateway), payers can use any Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.) without installing the RedotPay app. For global card spending, the virtual card can be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay for tap-to-pay without opening the RedotPay app.
For RedotPay Connect (B2B gateway), settlement to the merchant's bank account in USD, EUR, or GBP is processed instantly following successful stablecoin payment authorization. For QR Scan to Pay (Vietnam/Philippines), the merchant receives local fiat (VND/PHP) instantly via the national payment rails (VietQR/InstaPay) — funds appear in the merchant's existing bank or e-wallet account. Settlement speed is enabled by the OpenPayd banking infrastructure integrated with RedotPay's treasury operations.
RedotPay Connect publicly states fee reductions of "up to 70% compared to traditional card and bank payments" but exact merchant discount rates are not publicly disclosed — pricing is set per merchant during KYB onboarding. For QR Scan to Pay, merchants pay their existing bank/e-wallet QR acceptance fees (set by their local provider) — RedotPay does not charge merchants additional fees for QR Scan to Pay since the conversion and any spread are handled on the payer side. The payer pays no fixed fee beyond the live exchange rate spread. Some Philippine banks charge a ₱10 fixed fee on QRPh payments, which is shown before confirmation.
