Introducing OKX Money: A Standalone App for Digital Dollars

October 6, 2026

OKX Money is a new standalone app for digital dollars, bringing stablecoin balances, rewards, transfers, payments and card spending into one experience.

Users can hold USDG, USDC or USDT, earn rewards on eligible USDG balances, send funds, make payments where supported, and spend through virtual or physical cards.

The key idea is simple: the digital-dollar balance sits at the centre of the product, with different ways to save, send and spend it.

A New Digital-Dollar Account

OKX is positioning Money around a broader concept than card spending.

The app brings together functions that are often separated across different financial products: holding dollar-backed stablecoins, earning on eligible balances, sending money and spending through a card.

Customers can fund their OKX Money account using more than 50 supported currencies. These funds are converted into dollar-backed stablecoins, after which users can hold USDG, USDC or USDT and convert between supported stablecoins without conversion fees.

The result is a single digital-dollar balance that can be used across several financial activities rather than a product built solely around card payments.

Earn on Eligible USDG Balances

One of the main features of OKX Money is the ability to earn rewards on eligible USDG balances.

Qualifying customers can earn up to 10% APY, with no staking or lock-up requirement. The balance remains available while rewards accrue, allowing users to spend, send or transfer their funds.

OKX states that the applicable rate depends on the user’s balance and loyalty level. The higher rate applies to the first $10,000, while amounts above that receive the standard rate. Because rates can change, the current figure displayed in the OKX Money app is the applicable rate.

OKX Money balances are held on X Layer, regardless of which network was used when the funds were added.

Send Money Directly From the Account

Transfers are built directly into OKX Money.

Transfers between OKX Money users are instant and free. Users can also send funds to external blockchain addresses. In those cases, OKX does not add an additional fee, while the applicable blockchain network fee still applies.

This gives users a straightforward way to move the same digital-dollar balance between people, payment use cases and external blockchain addresses without first moving funds into a separate product.

QR Payments and Everyday Spending

OKX Money also supports payments through QR codes where the relevant functionality is available.

Users can pay from their OKX Money balance by QR code while keeping the same balance available for other uses, including card spending.

The product therefore brings several payment methods around the same underlying balance:

Hold → Earn → Send → Pay → Spend

The Card Is Part of the Broader System

OKX Money includes both virtual and physical cards.

The current OKX Money product site states that users can spend online or in stores wherever Mastercard is accepted. It also advertises zero FX fees and up to 10% cashback on eligible purchases.

These figures describe the current OKX Money proposition and remain subject to the applicable terms, market and user eligibility.

Loyalty Levels Determine Additional Benefits

OKX Money has five loyalty levels:

Classic, Plus, Premium, Signature and Infinite.

Users can qualify through their 30-day average deposited assets, rolling 30-day card spending, or their existing OKX Exchange VIP level.

Level 30-Day Average Deposited Assets Rolling 30-Day Spend Exchange VIP
Classic — — —
Plus $40,000 $10,000 VIP 1
Premium $80,000 $20,000 VIP 2
Signature $320,000 $75,000 VIP 3
Infinite $500,000 $100,000 VIP 4+

OKX states that thresholds can differ by region. Higher loyalty levels can provide a higher balance reward rate and more cashback on card spending where cashback is offered.

Loyalty levels are assessed daily, and an existing OKX Exchange VIP level can automatically determine the corresponding OKX Money loyalty level.

Why OKX Money Matters

The significance of OKX Money is broader than another crypto card.

The product is structured around the digital-dollar balance itself.

A user can hold dollar-backed stablecoins, earn on eligible USDG, send money to another person, make a supported QR payment, or spend through a card from the same account.

That creates a different model from the traditional crypto-card experience:

Crypto balance → Card → Purchase

OKX Money is built around:

Digital-dollar balance → Earn → Send → Pay → Spend

This distinction matters as stablecoins move further into everyday payments. The competitive question is increasingly not just who can issue a crypto card, but who can make a stablecoin balance useful as everyday money.

The Bigger Picture

OKX Money is an attempt to make the underlying blockchain infrastructure less important to the end user.

Instead of asking customers to think about networks, wallets and separate payment products, OKX is presenting a familiar set of financial actions: save, send and spend digital dollars.

That makes the October 6 launch significant because the card is no longer the whole proposition. It is one part of a broader digital-dollar account designed to combine balances, rewards, transfers, payments and everyday spending.

OKX Money is ultimately a bet that stablecoins can function not only as crypto assets, but as a practical form of digital money.
