Description.
Privy (Horkos, Inc.) provides wallet infrastructure for developers to embed secure, programmable wallets into any application. Founded in 2021 by Henri Stern, Asta, and the Privy team, Privy enables developers to onboard users with email, SMS, social logins, or existing wallets while providing enterprise-grade key management through TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) and distributed key sharding. The platform supports EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, and 120+ networks, powering over 120 million accounts across 2,000+ developer teams including Kraken, JPMorgan, and Shopify. In June 2025, Stripe acquired Privy to integrate crypto payment rails into its platform, with Privy continuing to operate as an independent product.
Key Infrastructure.
Embedded Wallets SDK
Complete wallet solution embedded within applications using one simple API call. Supports passkeys, hardware tokens, and social logins for seamless user onboarding. Wallets are hardware-secured with TEE isolation and distributed key sharding across isolated services. Available across EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, and 120+ networks with gas sponsorship and global user accounts
Low-Level Key Management
Run secure wallets within hardware-isolated TEEs. Define granular signing policies, coordinate multi-approver quorums, and automate onchain actions programmatically. Provides granular policy engine, multi-approver quorums, and webhook-based indexing for enterprise-grade key operations
User Onboarding
Sign up any user in seconds with email, SMS, social login, passkey, or existing wallet. Progressive authentication improves conversion for both crypto experts and newcomers. Includes robust wallet connectors and hardware-backed login with MFA support
Programmable Integrations
Integrate with best-in-class onchain tools including swaps, bridges, and gas sponsorship. Automated bridging, smart wallet signers, and fiat-to-crypto rails enable developers to create seamless crypto experiences without building from scratch
Custodial Wallets
Added custodial wallet options to Privy's wallet stack, powered by flexible custody. Enables enterprises and financial institutions to choose between self-custody and delegated custody based on regulatory requirements and user preferences
Flexible Custody
Enterprise-grade custody models for global businesses. Supports hardware-isolated self-custody with keys sharded and distributed across isolated services. Wallets only reconstructed in secure hardware environments ensuring only owners can access assets
Additional Features.
Gas Sponsorship
Sponsor gas fees for users to improve onboarding conversion and reduce friction when transacting on-chain for the first time, removing wallet funding barriers
Passkey Support
Enable passwordless authentication using passkeys stored in device secure enclaves for enhanced security, phishing resistance, and superior user experience
Hardware Token Support
Integration with hardware security tokens for enterprise-grade authentication requiring physical device presence to authorize wallet operations and transactions
Multi-Approver Quorums
Configure multi-signature requirements where multiple parties must approve high-value transactions before execution, enabling corporate treasury controls
Transaction MFA
Layer on additional authentication factors such as SMS codes, biometrics, or authenticator apps for transaction approval on sensitive operations
Wallet Connectors
Connect to existing wallets including MetaMask, WalletConnect, and other Web3 connectors enabling users to import or link their existing crypto identities
